William Bernard “Bill” Harp, Sr. was born on Thursday, September 5, 1935 at Springfield, Massachusetts to Lester Franklin and Margaret Agnes (Felix) Harp. Bill lived for many years in California, where he worked as a security guard and as a truck driver. After moving to South Dakota, he worked at Mitchell Concrete and later for Hutchinson County. He married Florence Wudel on September 23, 1978. Bill loved to tell jokes to anyone that would listen and he enjoyed country music. He especially loved being outdoors and fishing. Bill passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society of Tripp, having attained the age of 74 years, 7 months and 17 days.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, of Tripp; a son, William Bernard “Billy” Harp, Jr., of Tripp; a daughter Susan (Timothy) Etter of Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren Zoey Harp, Chelsea Etter, Elaina Etter, Melissa Etter and Dominic Etter; and several step-children.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
