Sharon was born November 18, 1949 in Wheatland, Wyoming to James and Jean (Weston) Hildebrand, the second of four children. Sharon graduated from Newcastle High School in 1968 and from St. John’s McNamara School of Nursing in 1971. She spent her entire 42-year career working in healthcare and caring for others. For 25 years she worked for St. Michael’s Hospital as a nurse on the floor, clinic nurse, infection control nurse and disaster preparedness. Sharon was also a Community Health Nurse for Bon Homme County and a nurse at the Mike Durfee State Prison.

Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald James Becvar on June 19, 1971. To this union was born their daughter, Kristen Marie. Ron and Sharon lived on a farm southwest of Tyndall until Ron’s death in October 1994. Sharon married Donald Ray Hauck on August 30, 1996 and lived on Don’s farm until her passing.

Sharon was an avid reader and would have a book with her wherever she went. She also loved to do needlepoint and crochet and would often give baby blankets to newborn moms. Sharon loved to play cards, especially Hand and Foot, pinochle and solitaire. She never passed up a chance to play cards, especially at family gatherings and with the neighbors. Sharon was a very proud grandma and always made it a priority to attend her grandchildren’s activities.

Sharon was always one to care for others, both professionally and in her personal life. She was the “go to” whenever any family member needed help interpreting medical information or needed guidance on healthcare decisions. Her final act of giving, was to donate her corneas, to give someone the gift of sight.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Don Hauck of Tyndall, South Dakota; her daughter, Kris (Becvar) Taggart and spouse, Todd Taggart; grandchildren, Emma, Abby and Logan Taggart all of Yankton, SD; her sister, Barb Gould of Newcastle, Wyoming; brother, Lloyd Hildebrand of Douglas, Wyoming and brothers-in-law, Ken Becvar (Debi Diede) and Jim (Perri) Becvar, along with several nieces and nephews.
