Samuel Louis Crockett

Samuel Louis Crockett was born on June 2, 1989 to Billie M. Crockett and Laurie J. Vellek in Tyndall, South Dakota. He grew up on a farm north of Tyndall and attended Bon Homme school. He went on to receive his GED and took a few college courses. Most recently, Sam worked as a cook at many local restaurants. He enjoyed mixing his own music, skateboarding when he was younger, playing video games and hanging out with his friends.
Sam was brutally murdered on the morning of Friday, January 5, 2018 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota having attained the age of 28 years, 6 months, and 27 days.
He is survived and remembered by his mother Laurie J. Vellek of rural Tyndall; sister Brandi Crockett of Texas; brother Cody Crockett of Sioux Falls; sister Jamie Fender of Rapid City; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A private burial will be held at a later time in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Vodnany-Rural Tyndall, SD. Condolences may be sent at Sam’s family at 41466 295th St., Scotland, SD 57059.
