Ruth E. Weifenbach

Ruth Ellen (Voeller) Weifenbach (age 80), passed away on December 27th, 2022 at the Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital in Scotland, SD.

A Memorial Service is to be held on December 31^st, 2022, 10:30 a.m., at the Goglin Funeral Home in Scotland, SD, with immediate family present.

Ruth was born on July 18, 1942 to Viola (Crawford) Voeller and Anton Voeller in Aberdeen, SD. She was the baby of the family with 11 older siblings and kept the title of “Baby Sister” throughout her life.

Shortly after graduating from Aberdeen Central High School, she met and married Allan Weifenbach on June 11, 1962. They later welcomed a daughter Dawn.

Ruth’s passion was cooking as she made a 50-year career of it. She took pride in making sure that nobody left her table hungry. Alongside cooking, sports were one of her favorite hobbies. Most days you could catch her watching a game on tv, regardless of who was playing, but her all-time favorite was the Minnesota Twins. There was only one thing she loved more than the Minnesota Twins and that was her family. If she wasn’t catching a game, she was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Grateful for having shared Ruth’s life are her daughter, Dawn (Justin) Roeker, Waseca, MN; grandchildren: Alan (Kate) Salwei, Worthington, MN, Tifani (Colin) Mack, Rapid City, SD, Stefani (Dexter) Grosz, Scotland, SD; 11 great-grandchildren who know her as “Nana”; her sister, Virginia Vinson, Clyde, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; a dear friend, Lucy, and Allan Weifenbach.
