Regina Margaret (Brosz) Bueber was born on June 12, 1920 to Ferdinand and Lydia Brosz in rural Tripp, South Dakota. She grew up on a farm northeast of Tripp, SD, and attended rural Sharon school. After her education, she worked on her parents’ farm and served as a household helper to many area families.
On May 2, 1948, she married Bernhard Bueber in the Congregational Church in Kaylor, SD. Three children were born to this union: Diane, Rita, and Duane. Bernhard and Regina farmed east of Tripp for 35 years. Regina worked alongside her husband on the farm and served on womens’ groups in church and community. She and her husband retired to their new home in Tripp in 1983.
In her retirement years, Regina was known for sewing quilt tops for her church missions. As best as she could recall, she had sewn more than 1000 quilts which were sent to all parts of the world. She often reflected as to where people were keeping warm with her quilts.
Regina passed away on May 31, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society of Scotland having attained the age of 98 years.
Regina is survived by three children: Diane (Dwain) Wulf of Omaha, Nebraska, Rita (Tom) Korbal of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Duane (Bonnie) of Kaylor, South Dakota; 4 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth, brothers: Arthur, Jonathan, Edgar, Milton, Maynard, Raymond, Curtis, and Loren.
