Raymond “Ray” William Salvatori was born on Tuesday, July 16, 1935 to Charles and Theresa (Schroeder) Salvatori in Yankton, South Dakota. On September 16, 1958, Ray was united in marriage to Jean Marie Cash in Wynot, Nebraska. Together, they lived in Wynot, Omaha, and made their final home in Yankton. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in 1956 and served during the Cuban Crisis. Ray worked as a maintenance superintendent for Cimpl Packing in Yankton for 18 years until his retirement in 1998. In his spare time, Ray loved to golf. He accomplished the golfers dream of getting a hole-in-one on hole 13 at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ray passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Avera-Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton having attained the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 8 days.
He is survived and remembered by his wife of 56 years Jean Marie Salvatori of Yankton; sons: Kevin Salvatori of Lincoln, NE, Timothy (Jodi) Salvatori of Yankton, and Dennis (Marcia) Cash of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Tony, Samatha, Ryan, Joselyn, Danielle, Carissa, Jordynn, and Aiden; and sisters: Angela (Clarence) Jansen, Theresa Stratman, Joan (Larry) Eickhoff, and Karen (Lawrence) Becvar.
He was preceded in death by parents, son Daniel in 1989, sisters: Janice and Geraldine, twin brother Robert, daughter-in-law Lori Salvatori, sister-in-law Joyce Cash, and brothers-in-law: Ralph Stratman, Clifford Cash, and Xavier Becvar.
