Pauline Marie Hauck, age 83 of Avon, SD and formerly of Tyndall, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Tyndall Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Tyndall Presbyterian Church.

Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Tripp.

Casketbearers are Michael Hauck, Tyler Vanden Berge, Amanda Hauck, Douglas Bitterman, David Bitterman and Darold Bitterman. Honorary casketbearers are Laura Estrada, Bryce Hauck, Myles Estrada, Megyn Estrada, Mykayla Estrada, Donna Soulek, Taryn Crites and Abby Crites.

Pauline was born on June 3, 1941 to August and Edna (Losing) Winckler on the family farm northwest of Tyndall in Bon Homme County. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Congregational Church in Scotland. She attended Buechler School in rural Tyndall through the 8th grade. On November 6, 1960, Pauline was united in marriage to Vernon E. Hauck at the First Congregational Church in Scotland and to this union 4 children were born. They resided on a farm northwest of Tyndall where they farmed and raised their family. Pauline was a member of the Tyndall Presbyterian Church.

Pauline worked side by side with her husband for 54 years, helping on the farm and with the daily milking of cows. She worked at CR Industries for 10 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, quilting and attending local auctions. She loved to crochet and would spend countless hours making doilies, that she would later give away as gifts.

Pauline’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Sandra (Kevin) Vanden Berge of Mitchell; sons, Allen Hauck of Yankton, Michael (Kristi) Hauck of Tyndall and Darrin (Lisa) Hauck of Tyndall; grandchildren, Laura (Rick) Estrada of Mitchell, Tyler Vanden Berge of Mitchell, Amanda Hauck of Springfield and Bryce Hauck of Tyndall; great-grandchildren, Myles, Megyn and Mykayla Estrada of Mitchell; step-granddaughters, Abby Crites of Yankton and Taryn Crites of Tyndall and sister, Eilene Bitterman of Delmont.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon; her sister, Delores Schmidt; her in-laws, Emanuel and Esther Hauck; brothers-in-law, Delbert Bitterman and Melvin Schmidt and sister-in-law, Ramona Chambers.
