Misti Marie Stahlecker Ness

Misti Marie Stahlecker Ness, 51, went to be with Jesus Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Sacred Heart Majestic Bluffs Hospice after a long battle with chronic pain and cancer. 

The celebration of life for Misti will be held Sunday, September 15th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mojo’s 3rd Street Pizza, 104 E 3rd St., Yankton, SD.

Born on July 25th, 1973, in Yankton, SD, to Roger Stahlecker and Trudi Carmen Gilson, Misti attended Sacred Heart Elementary and Yankton Public Schools. She earned an Associate degree in Business in 2012 and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix in 2014. 

Misti was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR, and Raiders football. Her humor, laugh, determination, faith, and care for others will be deeply missed. 

She is survived by her parents, Roger Stahlecker (Rita) and Trudi Gilson (Dean); her children, Kylie Anderson (fiancé Gaten Willis) and Austin Anderson; her beloved service dog Tokin; her special friend, Todd Pieper; siblings, Bethany Stephens, Jared Stahlecker, Wesley and Leeanna Miller, Jill Frank, and Ryan Christensen; grandson, Jiraiya Willis; nieces, Desi and Abbi Stahlecker; nephews, Matthew Stephens and Jaxtin Miller. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, two aunts, and a cousin. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all of Misti’s friends, Todd, and her neighbor Laurie for being there for her and Austin during this difficult time.
