Marlene L. Ochsner, 84, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Scotland, South Dakota, died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Primrose Retirement Communities in Sioux Falls.
Marlene was born Thursday, December 26, 1935 to Theodore and Linda (Hille) Schneider in Tyndall. Marlene graduated from Scotland High School in 1953, as an honor student her senior year.
Marlene married Eldon Ochsner February 16, 1958 at the Scotland Reformed Church. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Marlene was a bookkeeper for Riven’s Market and a cook at Good Samaritan Society. She was a fan of any sport but especially followed the Minnesota Twins. Marlene frequently shared the story of meeting Kirby Puckett at the hospital in Sioux Falls. Marlene loved canning. As a pinochle player she would never let you win. Marlene’s family was very important to her.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband Eldon Ochsner of Sioux Falls; children Cheryl (Marty) Munkvold of Tea, Laura Ochsner of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Robert Ochsner of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two grandchildren Abby (Joel) Gullikson and Evan Munkvold.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Arlys.
Marlene’s family does have concerns about Coronavirus and understands the decision of others, if they chose not to attend her memorial service.
