Marcella Ann “Sally” Martin was born on Tuesday, September 13, 1916 in Dimock, South Dakota to Nicholas and Mary (Schumacher) Mick. She was baptized in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock and attended Catholic school in Dimock through the 8th grade. Sally worked on the family farm and for others from the time she was 13 years old. Sally was married to Manferd E. Martin on August 6, 1941 at West Union, Iowa. Always a hard worker, Sally managed a restaurant in Plymouth, Michigan for 15 years. The couple moved to California in 1978. Following her husband’s death in 1984, Sally returned to the area and moved to Tripp. She worked as a housekeeper for many years at the Good Samaritan Society, and was known for her meticulous work. She helped out at the Sport Bowl and enjoyed the time she spent working there and visiting with people. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Altar Society in Tripp, and was also a member of the Good Samaritan Auxiliary. Sally passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Tripp Good Samaritan Society at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 2 days.
She will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and a community of friends. Sally had no children of her own, but had a large family in that she spent her life caring for and giving to others. 
Preceding her in death are her husband, Manferd Martin in 1984, her parents, Nicholas and Mary Mick, three brothers, Henry, Joe and Leo, and two sisters, Annie and Mary.
