Rev. Velma Larson
Lorraine Marjorie Zimmerman was born on June 19, 1951 to Irvine and Antonia (Erickson) Brandon in Mission Hill, South Dakota. She attended grade school in Mission Hill and high school in Gayville. On August 24, 1979, she was united in marriage to Steven Zimmerman in Yankton, South Dakota. Together they made their home in Gayville. For several years, she worked at Dale Electronics and M-Tron in Yankton. After calling Gayville home for 21 years, Steve and Lorraine relocated to Yankton.
She enjoyed watching wildlife and camping with her family, especially their trips to Texas. She also loved shopping, jigsaw puzzles, and crocheting. She was an easy-going woman whose face lit up whenever talking about her cherished grandchildren.
After fighting cancer for a year, Lorraine passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Avera Majestic Bluffs Nursing Home in Yankton having attained the age of 65 years and 10 days.
She is survived and remembered by her husband of 37 years, Steven Zimmerman of Yankton; children: Lisa (Clark) Ridgway of Lead, Billy (Teresa) Ridgway of Yankton, Sara (Nick) Hauger of Gayville, and Mark Zimmerman of Yankton; grandchildren: Joey Hoffman, Shauna Hoffman, Trevor Ridgway, Chance Ridgway, Nevaeh Hauger, and Cael Hauger; siblings: Marlys, Beverly, Pearl (Larry), Naomi (Phillip), Dennis (Barb), and Neil (Donna).
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Gloria.
