Laurelle “Cookie” Collinge was born on November 12, 1944 to William and Mina (Hendrix) Detmers in Lennox, South Dakota. She graduated from Canton High School in 1962 and went on to attend some college courses. For 5 years, Cookie worked as a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier. On May 28, 1991, Cookie was united in marriage to Donald “Jack” Collinge in Brookings, South Dakota.
She loved animals, reading, and watching classic cartoons such as Looney Tunes.
Cookie passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society of Scotland having attained the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 1 day.
She is survived by her sons Gary Dale Mulder of Sioux Falls, SD and Greg Dean (Melinda) Mulder of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Austin, John, Ryan, Andy, Samantha, and Sydney; three great-grandchildren; and siblings: Larry Detmers of Sioux Falls, SD and Bonnie Olsen of Canton, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Collinge, in June 2017, sister Betty Kock, and brother Wayne Detmers.
