Kevin Michael Ehlers

Kevin Michael Ehlers, age 65 of Tripp, SD passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023 after a very brief stay at Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 12 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Tripp.

Kevin was born June 3, 1958 to Robert and Ruby (Olson) Ehlers in Sioux City, Iowa. Following high school graduation, he worked for a few different car dealerships in Sioux City. He loved fixing cars and selling them, which he spent most of his life doing. Unfortunately, MS forced his early retirement.

Mike was united in marriage to Judy Jerke, May 4, 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. They loved spending time at the lake near Utica, SD with family and friends. Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards and camping. He always had a story to tell about his life, along with a joke or two, and was proud of his family. Mike devoted a lot of time to fundraising for the MS Society. He had a heart of gold, always seeing the best in people.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Jessica and wife Liz Sanchez, Justina Kinsey and Jonni Wahle; brother, Ron and wife Diane Ehlers; granddaughters, Malynda, Alexys and Kalynn; grandson, Coltyn; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Robert and Ruby; brothers, Larry, Bob and Gary; sister, Sharon; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
