Judith Brown, age 84 of Tripp, SD gained her angel wings on November 25, 2023. Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 2, at Friedens Reformed Church at 1:30 p.m., with the family present at 12:30 p.m.

Judith Benita Brown was born on October 26, 1939, to Carl and Hermina “Toots” (Schriever) Kahler in Beaver Creek, Minnesota.
On December 21, 1958, Judy was united in marriage to Warren Brown. Shortly after their wedding, Warren, a private in the Army, was stationed in Germany. While in Germany, their first child, Timothy was born. Upon returning stateside, the family of three grew to include Teresa, Paul, and Dale.


Throughout her lifetime, Judy was a homemaker, a customer service representative, a bookkeeper, and a certified nursing assistant. For extra income, Judy took in sewing jobs. Putting in long hours one week, she sewed uniforms for the local softball team. She also used this skill for her family, making outfits for her children and later her grandchildren. For many years, she was the organist at Eastside Presbyterian Church, sharing her love of music with others. She was a member of Frieden’s Reformed Church and the Women’s Guild.


Grateful for having shared Judy’s life are her husband, Warren; children, Timothy (Denise) Brown of Rapid City, SD; Teresa (Daniel) Springer of Onalaska, WI; Paul (Lisbeth) Brown of Sioux Falls, SD; and Dale (Amy) Brown of Tripp, SD; 14 grandchildren: John Brown, Melissa Brown, Christopher Brown, Jennifer (Matt) Maier, Andy Springer, Alex (Jasmine) Springer, Shawn (Missy) Brown, Emily (Drew) Maddox, Ashley (Jeremy) Dibbert, Nathan Brown, Rebecca (Dudley) Schroeder, Laura (Austin) Bitterman, Nicolaus (Mikayla) Brown, and Colby Brown; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pamela (Doug) Hanson and Patricia (Vern) Guggisberg; two brothers, Jon (Valerie) Kahler and Alan Kahler as well as many nephews and nieces.


She joined her parents and other family members in heaven on November 25, 2023.
