Jeannette Kay Eide Leeper, age 60, of Yankton died Friday, January 31, 2020 at her aunt Karen’s home in Yankton.
Jeannette Kay Eide was born Wednesday, July 8, 1959 in Yankton, South Dakota to Mervin and Norma (Rudd) Eide. Jeannette attended Yankton schools, later attaining a GED.
Jeannette worked several years at Yankton Adjustment Training Center in Yankton. She cared for her many special friends, often taking them on vacation to the Black Hills. Her latest job was in food service at Avera Majestic Bluffs in Yankton.
Jeannette had a special place in her heart for the Diabetic Kids Camp. She raised money for 19 years by running the BINGO tent at Riverboat Days and held a fundraiser for them once a year. Numerous kids have been able to attend camp due to her efforts. Jeannette loved to play cards and shoot pool. She had gone to Las Vegas several times to shoot pool with her pool league.
Jeannette won her battle with breast cancer in 2014 but was not able to win the battle with COPD and heart disease. Jeannette will be miss by her many, many friends and family.
Jeannette is survived by her sister Janice (Tony) Goeden; brother Jay Eide; nephews Mason, Mitch and Max Eide; great nieces McKenna and Brinley and great nephews Wes and Oakley.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents Mervin and Norma Eide; brothers Jeff and Jerry Eide.
