Harold Emme was born in Tripp, South Dakota, on October 19, 1927, the son of Fred and Selma Emme. Harold attended school in Tripp, moving to Bowman, ND after graduating from high school. It was there where he met his wife Margaret Stoen. Harold had several careers that included restaurant owner, furniture and carpet sales, and motel owner. The family lived in Bowman, North Dakota, Spokane, Washington, and Moorhead, Minnesota as Harold worked to support his growing family. An avid golfer, Harold purchased a home in Apache Junction, Arizona, where he spent more than 18 years. He was very involved in his church and had many friends, particularly in Arizona.
Harold is survived by his five children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. His children include: Cher (Doug) Hersrud; Jan Schwindt; Annette (John) Shotwell; and twins Diane (Tom) Johnson and Dave (Patty Moen) Emme. He is also survived by his wonderful friend, Karin Bentzen, who was so loving and supportive.
