She attended Harmony Grove Elementary School in Lodi, CA and graduated Lodi High School in 1961. She attended Humphrey Business College for book-keeping. On May 29, 1965, Gail was united in marriage to Curtis Huether in Lodi. In 1972, they moved onto a farm in rural Parkston, South Dakota where she performed the many duties of a farmwife. Gail was an active member of Frieden’s Reformed Church in Tripp where she served as a Sunday and Bible School teacher, a member of the Christian Education Committee, and in the Frieden’s Women’s Guild.
