Dorothy Prickett

Dorothy Prickett, 99, of Scotland passed away early Friday morning (March 8, 2024) at Tyndall Good Samaritan Society Home.  

Private services were held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Goglin Funeral Home in Scotland with Pastor Brian Mosemann officiating. Burial was at Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland.  

Dorothy was born on May 25, 1924 in Yankton to Charles and Clara Hacecky. She grew up in the Yankton area and graduated from Lesterville High School. She married Virgil Prickett on November 22, 1946 and resided in the Scotland area. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Scotland.  

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Gilbert of Scotland and Teri (Joe) Varilek, Scotland; one son, Scott (Karen) Prickett of Yankton; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Joyce Plank of Yankton.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents and two brothers, Floyd and Dale Hacecky.
