Dorothy Marie Johnson

Dorothy Marie Johnson, age 100 of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Sr James Care Center in Yankton.

Dorothy was born Monday, May 1, 1922 in Kansas City, Kansas, to RD and Hallie (Snyder) Hill. She was a graduate of Yankton High School. Dorothy married Donald L Johnson September 29, 1941 at First United Methodist Church in Yankton.

Dorothy worked side by side with her husband, Don in DLJ Oil Company and was very active in the First Methodist Church and Ecumenical Bible Studies. She helped with Meals on Wheels, delivering daily.

Dorothy and Don raised two sons, Gary and Doug. The family loved boating and water recreation on the Missouri River with family and friends. Dorothy spent many weekends on the houseboat, camping on a sandbar in the Missouri River. She loved her flower garden and square dancing with friends.

Dorothy will be missed by her sons and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
