Dorice Ione Pringle

Dorice Pringle, age 88 of Tyndall, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.

Private family graveside services will be held at Bon Homme Cemetery, rural Springfield.

Dorice Ione Pringle was born October 23, 1932 to Linfred and Dorothy (Nixon) Standley at Muskegon, Michigan. She earned a teaching certificate from Chabot Community College in Hayward, California.

Dorice married John Pringle November 8, 1947 in Reno, Nevada. Following John’s military service they briefly lived in Kansas then spent over 40 years in California. They moved near Tyndall, South Dakota in 1997 and then purchased their home in Tyndall in 2003. Dorice and John were blessed with two children, daughter Janice and son Patrick. Over the years, Dorice worked as an instructional aide, early child care development instructor, teacher assistant, pre-school teacher and nurse’s aide.

Dorice was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion and VFW auxiliary. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her family.

Survivors include son Patrick Pringle of Tyndall, SD; daughter Janice Pringle of Morgan Hill, California; grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Carlin, Rebekah Pringle and Ian Pringle all of Rochester, MN; greatgrandchildren Alexander Carlin, Jasmine Carlin, Kahlan Carlin, Molly Carlin, Margaret Carlin and Tara Carlin all of Rochester; brothers Charles Standley of Michigan and Ernie Wilson of California and sister Leone Stamps of California.

Dorice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2009 and brother Russell Standley.
