Diane Joy Wieting

Diane Joy Wieting, 66, of Eureka, CA passed away peacefully in her home on September 2, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and her cat (Gremlin).
Diane was born September 16, 1947 to Don and Martha (Frier) Brunken in Parkston, SD. She graduated from Delmont High School in 1965 and National College of Business in 1966. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Wieting, on July 15, 1967.
Diane and her husband lived in various cities as Jim served in the Air Force before settling in  New Mexico for more then 20 years. Diane worked as an administrative professional eventually working for the Los Alamos National Laboratory with a “Q” clearance.  Upon retiring, they lived in Rapid City, SD and finally, Eureka, CA.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother and father and paternal and maternal grandparents.  She is survived by her husband Jim, son Joe (Leah) Wieting of Rio Rancho, NM and daughter Dena (Shawn) Powers of Eureka, CA, grandchildren Ayden, Elliot, Oliver, Hartley, Ashton, Kylie, and Anthony; brother Dwaine(Sharon) of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters Betty (Miles) Goehring of Pine Haven, WY and Donna (Gene)Hagerty of White Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
