Denise Olwyn Beringer

Denise (Vellek) Beringer, age 62, passed away on December 10, 2024 at St. Michael's Hospital in Tyndall. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, December 13 at Goglin Funeral Home in Tyndall. Her funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 14 at Goglin Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Tyndall Cemetery.

Denise was born on December 27, 1961 in Tyndall, SD at St. Micheal's Hospital to Raymond and Joan (Williams) Vellek. Denise attended the Vellek Country School as a child and later Tyndall-Tabor High School. 

She worked different jobs throughout of her career, Groveland Park, Kelly's Pizza, Jack & Jill's, Dale Electronics and Frank's Trading Post. Later she opened her own tanning salon in her home. On June 21, 1991 she married Thomas Beringer and from this union she gained two stepsons, Eric and Sean Beringer.

Denise enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her cats, collecting antiques, playing games and talking about Groveland days and the bands she got to meet. She also enjoyed growing flowers. Every summer she would have a large display outside. 

She survived by her daughter, Victoria Vellek of Tyndall; two grandchildren, Ava and Waylon Eckholt of Tyndall; two brothers, David Vellek and Dean Vellek, both of Tyndall and a niece, Stacey Giedd of Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Joan Vellek; her husband, Thomas Beringer and her grandparents.
