DeLyle William Auch

DeLyle William Auch, born on December 14, 1945, in Stanton, New York, to parents Oscar Auch and Myrtle (Haase) Auch, passed away on October 18, 2023.

His funeral will be 7 p.m. Sunday, October 29 at Goglin Funeral Home in Scotland with Pastor Brian Mosemann officiating. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Inurnment, with military honors, will be held at South Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls, at a later date.

DeLyle's journey began in New York, but he soon found his way to Kaylor, South Dakota. He attended school in Scotland.

Throughout his life, DeLyle worked in various fields. He spent many years working in concrete with his friend, Gordon in Harlingen, Texas. Later, he returned to Kaylor/Scotland, South Dakota, where he dedicated his time to automotive work. He also worked at Kaylor Locker for several years, alongside his friend, Kenny. DeLyle visited his schoolmate, Tim with his brothers and other schoolmates, socializing on weekends, talking about cars.

DeLyle is survived by his special friend, Ardy; his siblings, Sharon "Sherrie" Weerheim of Pocatello, Idaho, and Roger (Monica) Auch of Littleton, Colorado. He leaves behind a loving family, including children, Oscar, Jeff, Sharon, Tammy, and stepchildren, Tammy, Wanda, and Brenda; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

DeLyle had a zest for life and enjoyed various activities. He was an avid enthusiast of shooting darts, and barbecuing. DeLyle loved country western music and dancing, often entertaining family and friends with his joyous spirit. His membership in the VFW, alongside his service in the Navy Coast Guard, reflected his commitment to community, camaraderie, and his country.

DeLyle William Auch will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his dedication to his work, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
