David Michael Yott was born on Thursday, December 6, 1956 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Ernest and Dorothy (Galog) Yott. Among the many jobs David held throughout his life, he worked as a fisherman in the commercial fishing industry and as a worker in the nuclear power industry. He also worked as an ironworker until an accident left him seriously injured. He enjoyed time spent riding his Harley and was an avid fisherman. He was known for his award-winning barbeque skills. David married Tang Wohlsein on May 21, 2002 in Mitchell, South Dakota and they made their home in Tripp along with their beloved Pomeranian, Abby. David passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 2 days. He went peacefully home to his Lord at his residence in Tripp, surrounded by his family and friends.
David’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Tang Yott of Tripp; two stepdaughters and their families: Jessica and husband Dan Laabs and their daughters, Melissa and Danielle, of Richfield, Washington, and Cassandra and husband Matthew Pietz and their son, Cohn of Yankton, South Dakota; his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Yott, Sr. of Rocky Point, North Carolina; a brother, Dennis Yott of Rocky Point, North Carolina; two sisters: Donna and husband Dennis Johnson of Rocky Point, North Carolina and Kathleen and husband Jimmy Byrd, Sr. and their children Jennifer and Jimmy, Jr. of Coats, North Carolina; and many extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by two brothers: Ernest, Yott, Jr. and Charles Yott.
