David J. Paintner

David Joseph Paintner “DJ” died unexpectedly in Tyndall, SD on November 4, 2020 at the age of 69. David is survived by his mother Patricia Henn Paintner of Lutz, FL; children Heidi Grace Paintner of Tampa, FL and Nathan David Paintner of Lutz, FL; and his brother, Mark Jon Paintner of Names of Pahrump, NV. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph George Paintner of Minneapolis, MN.
David was born on March 27, 1951, in Bismarck, ND to Joseph Paintner and Patricia Henn. David enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1968, and was stationed in Da Nang, South Viet Nam. David graduated from Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis MN in 1976 with a degree in business, moved to Sioux Falls, SD and was employed by Chief Automotive Technology. David earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from The University of South Dakota in 1981. After moving to Tampa, FL in 1982, David accepted the position of sales and marketing manager for Florida Satellite Network cable TV. In 1992, David made a career change into the nursing profession. He became licensed as an RN and worked for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. In 1998, he heard the call of the Black Hills and returned to his home in Sioux Falls. David moved to Avon, SD in 2016. He described Avon as the “hometown” where his heart belongs. He spoke of his church, Friedensburg Bible Church, as the place where he could always find God’s healing Word.

A memorial service is planned for November 28, 2020 in Lutz, FL.
