Daniel George Freeman

Daniel G. Freeman, age 68 of Tripp, SD passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston, SD.

Daniel was born June 19, 1953 to Darrel and Bernice (Philvrick) Freeman in Huron, SD.  He attended DeSmet school.

On November 4, 1972, he married Cheryl (Roby) Freeman. They would have been married 50 years this fall.

To this marriage, they added a daughter, Danika Joy. 

Dan enjoyed hunting and taking his grandchildren fishing and spending many hours in a boat enjoying the fresh air.  He loved spending time with his grandkids and telling them stories.  Dan was a great cook.  He enjoyed canning, smoking meats and making wine.

Dan started his own appliance repair shop when they were first married in Bethel Park, PA. He continued that business until he had a hunting accident in 1980 and retired at that time.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Cheryl; daughter, Danika; two grandchildren, Riley and Raylyn and his dog Lola. He is survived by one brother, Dallas Freeman of Des Moines, Iowa.

A Celebration of Daniel’s life, with family present, will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022 at Goglin Funeral Home in Tripp.
