Cheryle K Jones

Cheryle Kay Jones, age 84 died Saturday, February 1, 2025 at her Yankton residence. No services are planned at this time.

Cheryle Kay was born October 21, 1940 to Lindsey and Mary (Beck) Fox in Fremont, NE. Following graduation from Fremont High School she attended Nebraska Methodist College where she attained an RN degree. Cheryle married Boyd Jones February 18, 1961 in Columbus, NE.

After graduating from college, she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Columbus Medical Clinic. Once the family moved to Yankton, Cheryle was the night supervisor at the State Hospital, until her retirement. 

She loved to golf and bowl, where she served for many years as the Wednesday Night Bowling League secretary. Cheryle had a passion for Husker football and had quite the gecko collection. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed by many. Cheryle touched a lot of hearts, throughout her 84 years.

Cheryle is survived by her husband, Boyd; son, Greg (Mary); daughters, Gail and Jennifer; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jerry), John (Caitlin), Shelby (Garrett), Dillon (Jordyn) and Janae (William); great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Cora, Elsie, Ryan, Taya and Merritt; a sister-in-law along with other relatives and lots of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws; brother, Mahlon; son, Matt; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Walker and 2 sisters-in-law.
