Charles "Chuck" Lee Hovorka was born on August 29, 1956 to Alvin and Helen (Sejnoha) Hovorka in Scotland, South Dakota. He graduated from Tyndall High School in 1974 and played as the kicker for the football team. For a time, he did custom combining in Texas before returning to the family farm by Scotland. He helped his family farm for the next 10 years. He also worked at Kingsburg Grain, Tyndall Co-op, and then for the Bon Homme County Highway Department for 5 years. Lastly, he worked as a welder at Wilson Trailer Company in Yankton.
In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed trap shooting, golfing, bowling, and slow pitching for Roy's Bar baseball team. He was also a big Denver Broncos fan.
Chuck passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. Michael's Hospital Avera in Tyndall, South Dakota having attained the age of 62 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
He is survived by his daughter Sara Hovorka of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Dennis (Connie) Hovorka of Tyndall, SD; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
