Carol Carda (nee Frick)

Carol (nee Frick) Carda, age 74, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. She was born in Yankton, South Dakota on March 14, 1942 to the late Ernest and Harriett (nee Klimisch) Frick.
Carol was a member of the Portage Moose Lodge 1900. She enjoyed bowling and coaching softball. Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved the Chicago Cubs.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, of 56 years, Edward Carda; daughters: Jill Carda, Janice Carda; son, Thomas (Bonnie Mineo) Carda; grandchildren: Nicole (Gabriel) Dawson, Tayler Hussain, Cloe Carda, Abigayle Jo Carda, Zachary Carda; great grandchildren: Landen, Madisen, Ayden; brother, Duane (Natalie) Frick of Yankton, SD; sister, Colleen Schild of Yankton, SD; best friend, Sandy Becker; and beloved dog of 14 years, Spankee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Hasker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Carol's honor, to the Portage Moose Lodge 1900, 3075 County Line Rd, Portage, IN 46368.
A memorial service for Carol will take place Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
