Caden C. Simantel

Caden Christopher Simantel, age 19, was welcomed by the Lord with open arms, Friday, November 29, 2024 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Caden grew up in Scotland but now resided in Yankton.

Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Tuesday, December 3 at Scotland Community Church. His funeral will begin 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4 at the church. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery.

Caden was born on January 6th, 2005 to Jill Fischer and Christopher Simantel at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. He graduated from Yankton High School in May of 2023.

Caden was a part of Yankton Special Olympics swimming, bowling, basketball and softball. He enjoyed riding with his dad on the motorcycle, listening and singing to music, riding on the side-by-side with Grandpa and Grandma Simantel, watching nerf gun wars on YouTube, playing board games, playing with his nieces and nephews, giving others hugs and putting a smile on everyone’s face. Caden was the sweetest soul. He loved everyone and everyone loved him just as much.

Caden is survived by his father, Christopher (Ann) Simantel of Scotland; mother, Jill Fischer (Jeremy Abma) of Yankton; sisters, Courtney Simantel of Yankton, Cailean (Zack) Oliver of Rapid City, Ashleigh Robertson (Vaughn Johnson) of Willmar, MN and Bryanna (Ryan) Bach of Stewart, MN; grandmother, Dianne Simantel of Scotland; grandparents, Colin and Judy MacDonald of Topeka, KS; grandmother, Elsie Wuitschick of Moose Lake, MN; nephews, Kaecyn, Aiden and Tyler; nieces, Ainsley and Athena, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernst and Ruth Fischer; grandfather, Terry Simantel and nephew, Bryan Bach.
