Beulah Celia Petzoldt was born on March 24, 1928 to Lloyd Amos and Mabel (Collinge) Colwell in Geddes, South Dakota. She graduated from Scotland High School. On Christmas Day, December 25, 1948, Beulah was united in marriage to Herman Martin Petzoldt at the Methodist Church in Scotland. She cared for her family as a loving homemaker. For several years, she also worked as a babysitter for many of the Menno area children. In 2006, Beulah moved from Menno to Scotland. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scotland until its closure, at which time she joined Zion Lutheran Church in Scotland. She enjoyed embroidering, baking, and cooking for her friends and family.
Beulah passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society of Scotland having attained the age of 89 years and 9 days.
She is survived and remembered by her children: Sandi Stubbe of Sioux Falls, SD, Herman Lloyd Petzoldt of Utica, SD, and Brenda Bietz of Tripp, SD; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Bonnie Losing of Scotland and Ruby Fischer of Scotland; and sister-in-law Arlene Colwell of Rapid City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Floyd Colwell.
