Arline Ruth Sedlacek

Arline Ruth Sedlacek, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society – Tyndall, at the age of 87.

A memorial service will begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21 at Goglin Funeral Home in Tyndall. Inurnment, along with her husband, Robert, will be in Bon Homme Cemetery, at a later date. 

Arline Ruth Bartikowsky Sedlacek was born October 21, 1936 to Emil and Ruby Bartikowsky at Tyndall, SD. She was the oldest of 6 children growing up on a farm near Tyndall. Arline had a love of singing and playing her guitar. Arline met Robert Sedlacek at a Czech Days Talent Show in 1954. They were engaged for 1 year, before marrying May 24, 1956 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Tyndall.

Arline and Robert worked side by side raising five children, while working the farm. They bought the current acreage in 1972. Arline loved canning, raising chickens, geese and ducks.

Arline loved socializing with her neighbors and friends. She also loved having all of her grandkids come out to stay at the farm.

Arline is survived by her children, Nancy (Mike) Brewer, Gary (Heidi) Sedlacek, James Sedlacek, Shelly (Jacque) Humpal and Julie Marchese; grandchildren, Jackie (Matt) Rector, Adam Brewer, Eric Brewer, Katie (Ben) Jackson, Jessica (Casey) Luke, Brandon Sedlacek, Jamie Ridgway, Jen (Sam) Knoll, Caylor (Hunter) Benson, Shannon Sedlacek, Jaden Sedlacek, Laci Highland, Charlie (Emily) Marchese and Nick Marchese; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Langley, Carol Reining, Dotty Honomichl and Ron Bartikowsky.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Emil and Ruby Bartikowsky; sister, Rita Bourrett and grandkids, Stacey Humpal, Jordan and Issac Sedlacek.
