Arlene Marie Hinker

November 1, 1939 — February 28, 2020

Arlene Marie (Jacobson) Hinker was born January 11th, 1939 at Howard, South Dakota. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran church in Howard and was a lifelong member of the church. Arlene enjoyed bowling and had many trophies, she was a fan of New England Patriots, she listened to country music, and mostly enjoyed spending time visiting with all of her family. Arlene was a 1957 graduate of Howard high school. She was united in marriage for 63 years with Robert J Hinker. They had 5 children Craig, Scotty (August 8,1968) Bobbi, Bryon and Krista while living in many areas such as Parma Ohio, Humboldt SD, Renner and Sioux Falls, SD then moving to Tyndall in 1984. Arlene was a waitress for many years taking pride in service she went to school and became a CNA and Med-aide with the Good Samaritan Center of Sioux Falls and transferred to Tyndall Good Samaritan Society and retired after 24 years of service. Arlene's was a member of St. John's Lutheran in Tyndall, SD and had been settling in to her new place at the Good Sam in Tyndall for herself and with Bob. Arlene's true passion for her family was always with her 5 children 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and her loving husband.
Arlene rested in comfort by her best friend and husband Bob and her children when she passed away Friday, Feb 28th after a long restless fight of rheumatoid arthritis, COPD and having pneumonia. Those grateful for having shared her life are her husband Robert (Bob) of Tyndall; son Craig and wife late Christi (Feb 14, 2019) of Sioux Falls; daughter Bobbi of Tyndall; son Bryon and wife Lisa of Canton; daughter Krista and husband Joel of Tyndall; sister Beverly and her husband Royal McCracken of Rapid City; sister-in-law Nancy Cooley Jacobson Grieme of Arizona and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter-in-law Christie Hinker sister Joyce Hansen brother Ronald Jacobson brother-in-law Richard Hinker parents Carl and Eunice Jacobson her dear great grandson Orion Hinker and her beloved son Scott.



It was Arlene's request to share her celebration of life with her husband. Until that time comes, there will be no public services.
