Anna Katherina Friederich was born on Sunday, February 3, 1918 in Bon Homme County near Scotland, South Dakota. She was one of ten children born to Christian and Katherina (Neth) Bauder. Anna was baptized on May 12, 1918 and confirmed on June 24, 1933, by Rev. George Zink. She grew up on the family farm near Scotland and attended country school through the 8th grade. Anna was united in marriage to Oscar Friederich on June 20, 1940. They farmed near Kaylor for many years and later moved into Kaylor. Over the years, she was a devoted member of her church circle. She enjoyed embroidery, working on puzzles, and she read her daily newspaper thoroughly. Anna passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital in Scotland, having attained the age of 92 years, 6 months and 15 days.
Anna is survived by her two children: daughter Mary Ann (Darrell) Dingman of Scotland and son William (Mary) Friederich of Tripp; four grandchildren: Wanda (Jim) Miller of Tabor, Julie (Tom) Harkema of Moneta, Virginia, Jonathan Dingman of Scotland, and Corey Dingman of Fargo, North Dakota; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Ziegler of Tripp; and a sister-in-law Leona Sedlezky of Freeman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in 1986, her grandson, Mark Friederich, brothers Richard, Charles, Julius, Otto, John, and William, and sisters Ella and Edna.
