Adeline Kubal was born on February 21, 1934 to Frank and Cristina (Cap)
Kotalik in Tabor, South Dakota. On August 29th,1950, she was united in
marriage to George A. Kubal at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor.
Together they made their home on a farm west of Tabor. Farming kept the
couple busy, yet George and Adeline shared a love of polka and attended many
of the local dances.
In 1970, Adeline moved into Tyndall. Through the years, she worked at St
Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall in dietary and Chicago Rawhide in Springfield
as a press operator. Following her retirement in 1999 she enjoyed caring for
her grandchildren, baking in her kitchen and working on her lawn. She also
loved to help others and attending family celebrations. Many will fondly
recall her candy cabinet that she always ensured was stocked for her
grandchildren and guests.
Adeline passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Good Samaritan
Society of Tyndall surrounded by her family having attained the age of 83
years, 2 months, and 8 days.
She is survived and remembered by her children: Darlene (Harold) Deering of
Brandon, SD, Barb (Terry) Schuurmans of Avon, SD, Jo (Jim) Boehmer of
Parkston, SD, and Betty (Jeff) Van Gerpen of Tyndall; 16 grandchildren; and
20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, son David in 1963,
granddaughter Kristina in 1995, and grandson Jeremiah in 2006.
Private family services were held.
