Adeline Leona Fridrich was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1935 to Vit and Anna (Konfrst) Krcil, Sr. at rural Dante, South Dakota. She attended Lone Tree #5 country school through the 8th grade. For a time, she worked as a housekeeper and nanny in the Dante area. On November 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Horacek in Dante. Together they farmed south of Tyndall where Adeline worked as a devoted farmwife; raising chickens, ducks, and tending a garden. She was also busy as a loving mother, raising five children.
On January 16, 1981, Adeline was united in marriage to Harvey Fridrich in Tyndall. She once again lovingly devoted herself to the task of farmwife and mother, as well as a step-mother to her eleven step-children. She faithfully milked the cows, raised poultry, and nurtured her garden and flowers which she was particularly fond of. Adeline also worked outside the farm managing the Senior Citizens meals and helping at the Tyndall Bakery. Sewing and quilting were Adeline’s passion and she shared those talents with many people in the family and community. She also loved bird watching and the time and conversations she had with friends at the Corner Bar in Tyndall.
On December 31, 2014, Adeline became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society of Tyndall and it is there that she passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 having attained the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 2 days.
She is survived and remembered by her husband of 34 years Harvey Fridrich of Tyndall; daughters: Katherine Horacek of Tyndall, Rose Horacek of Tyndall, and Arlene (Rodney) Haenfler of Avon; son Daniel (Laura) Horacek of Yankton; step-sons: Ken Fridrich of Sioux Falls, Greg (Lisa) Fridrich of College Station, TX, Jason (Connie) Fridrich of Sioux Falls, and Eric (Christina) Fridrich of Tea; step-daughters: Cindy (Jason) Brakke of Sioux Falls, Michelle (Mike Turnbull) Fridrich of Addison, IL, Pam (Gabe) Anderson of Sioux Falls, Linda (Brian) Heesch of Tyndall, Yvonne (Doug) Johnson of Sioux Falls, Sheila (Steve) Bolger of Sioux Falls, and Nicholle (Bryce) DeClerq of Waconia, MN; 23 step-grandchildren and the 24th on the way; 2 step-great-grandchildren; brother Jerry (Bonnie) Krcil of Mitchell; sister Ann (Richard) Rysavy of Dante; sisters-in-law: Carol Krcil of Mitchell, Sharon (Larry) Johnson of Lake Andes, and Joyce Tupker of Yankton; brother-in-law Laddie Horacek of Tyndall; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their families.
